Swashrit Society (a national N.G.O. which aims at providing holistic education to underprivileged children), conducted an ongoing Physical Health Camp in liaison with Dr. Manisha Kukreja Bhatia, Consultant: Preventive Healthcare, MBBS Family Medicine, Maternal child health, aircrew care and Medical examiner. Ex lady Hardinge RCGP(uk) and Apollo IGNOU AMC IAF in Ranjit Nagar initiated in the month of May 2013. |

The aim of the physical health camp was to administer Physical Health Assessment, spread Physical Health Awareness. |

The physical health camp was taken up by Dr. Manisha Kukreja Bhatia.Consultant: Preventive Healthcare, MBBS Family Medicine, Maternal child health, aircrew care and Medical examiner. Ex lady Hardinge RCGP(uk) and Apollo IGNOU AMC IAF. Doctor had an individual interaction with each child. Many common problems which came up with those children were like malnutrition, infestation with worms, anemia and also weak eyesight Each child was prescribed with the medicines and were recommended with the required tests. The medicines were also given out to them.
The talk was followed by the different queries that children asked with respect to the lecture and a one-on-one consultation with each child beginning with taking in the basic demographic details of each one to understand their health related concerns and help them. This session was further followed by counselling in group where children with similar set of concerns were dealt with together.
The teachers at the swashrit helped in the successful completion of the camp by providing the doctors the required information about each child. The health counseling camp served the purpose of empowering the children with enough information and awareness with regards to their health and problems confronted by them. Moreover, the aim of imparting the right kind of healthy living strategies upon the kids so that there is a sense of control, sense of right and wrong and indulgence in well thought out actions was fulfilled with the help of the talk and consultation successfully.
After the Physical Health Camp, the Swashrit Kids were provided with medicines as per the diagnosis.
At the end of the camp the doctor gave them the tips to keep themselves clean and healthy. |
